All data is treated with high security, and encryption measures are used when calling external APIs, to ensure users' data are secure and not linked back to them.
Users will be asked for access to the camera and microphone.
Any data transmitted to external APIs cannot be linked back to individual users.
This app accesses the user's camera. For the user to know what is around them, the camera must be accessed, as their surroundings must be analyzed for a description to be given to the users. However, any pictures or videos taken by the user are not accessed by this app, nor saved, nor sent to external entities, leaving that data secure. We also make sure that the users' data cannot be traced back to them. Camera data (pictures) will be sent to a highly secure API, but to no other users, organizations, or outside entities. Additionally, this data cannot be traced back to the user, and there is no way that a users' surroundings can be linked back to them. The data will not be saved on the users' phone, and the camera is only accessed to capture the users' surroundings, but cannot be linked back to the users.
This app accesses the user's microphone to recognize speech that a user says (if, and only if they choose to speak). If users choose to ask a specific question about their surroundings, they must hold the button on the right (to give the app permission to start listening), ask the question, and let go to stop listening. This is done to make it easier for users that have a hard time with sight to ask specific questions about their surroundings. Their voice data is not sent to any other entities, as it is converted to text locally on their phone, and this data is not stored. While this app does ask for microphone usage if the user chooses to ask a question about their surroundings, their speech and voice will not be saved, nor sent anywhere, as it is converted to text offline, ensuring that their voice is protected and safe.
